Foisal Masum, a photographer - this identity of mine gives me the pleasure quite like when i address my mother as "Mother". I came to this earth on January 25, 1981. With a background of computer related studies, i was supposed to be one of those guys who serves 9am-5pm in the office and passes rest of the time till sleep by watching TV. Till September 2008, this was almost the exact scenario of my upcoming life....Suddenly....Everything changed...let's not go into the boring details of how, when it happened...rather let's say an organization named "Photography Bangladesh" is the birth place of mine as a photographer, my proud identity. I owe to it to the ultimate level. Don't know how much successful i am in photography. But this much i can say that i try to express my feelings and viewpoints with the composite of millions of pixels; ingredients are emotions, lights and the imagination.

A man with nothing to lose

It was an ordinary winter morning with an ordinary street people sitting stiff by the cold beside a dustbin. But the crow with the same stiffness in its feature gave a whole new impression to the onlookers.it seemed both of the crow and the man were waiting to grab the foods, in the dustbin and watching each other carefully .As if they were competitors and that was the field of survive.
Drugs can turnsform a student into an outcast like him.....
I found him looking for something in a dustbin and saw these crows were flying around him just 1.5 feet up . I stopped and looking at him with a crazy curiosity. Suddenly he put something in his mouth and I couldnt believe that the man was eating from a dustbin.May be the crows were trying to expel him as he was eating up all their foods. These crows were not at all afraid of him.

After a long time , I went out very early that morning. My friend Priom and I was wandering around the DU campus.Priom was planning to give some food to this man for some days after knowing about this man from me.She just decided it would be today and bought some food for him.At first she tried to give it to him in person. But he didn’t pay any attention to her.So, she put it there just beside him and we got out of his sight. We were bit confused whether he would take it or not.So , we watched over him from a distance. After a few minutes he opened the box and started eating.
This was the first time when my eyes were caught by something else then the man himself. It was the bill board behind him.Really ironic it was that so much money spent only to advertise a toothpaste while someone is so much happy to have a square meal after who knows how long! It is not that I have any grudge against the advertisement, I was just wondering what were the problems of spending money on these people if we can spend such a huge amount of money in advertising a product.

THE END
